NULC Skills Squad prepare for regional competition

The current NULC Skills Squad Care members, have registered to take part in the regional competition on Wednesday 2 May at Blackpool and Flyde College. In preparation for the event, the Skills Squad are going to visit a local nursing home where the homes training officer will take them through up-to-date practices in personal care and update them on relevant legislation and care standards.

Selection competitions for new NULC Skills Squad underway

The first round of selecting new Skills Squad members for the Care Team took place on Wednesday 14 March. Five students were selected to go on to the next round, which will take place on Wednesday 20 June. The next stage of the competition will take the form of a role play activity, where a local Care employer will be invited in to the College to form part of the judging panel.
