Health and Social Care students study real bones!

Level 3 Health and Social Care students at Newcastle-under-Lyme College (NULC) have been getting to grips with Anatomy and Physiology in their lesson.

Whilst studying the skeletal system, lecturer Jill Salt decided to liven up the lesson by bringing some real bones into college! They were bones from a cow, one including a full cow’s leg with the ligaments and tendons still attached. The students were able to see blood vessels and a working joint because the knee was still in tact.

Jill Salt said, “I wanted the students to experience something different and allow them to interact with, and experience, a real demonstration of a joint and how it functions.”
